« Conceptualizing science learning self-efficacy and engagement from a multi-dimensional perspective »
Vendredi 20 mai 2022, 11h00-12h30
Abstract :
The research topic regarding science learners’ self-efficacy and engagement is of great importance in the field of science education. Yet, in the past, science education researchers did not explore and conceptualize the two crucial science learning constructs in a more comprehensive manner. In this talk, I will explain why and how the multi-dimensional conceptualization of high school science learners’ self-efficacy and engagement should be recognized. Then, I will share relevant findings related to the two strands of research derived from my own research outputs, which could be informative for researchers as well as practitioners to open potential avenues for future research and practical implications for science teaching and learning.
